5 Books You Must Read To Be Successful Online & Offline

One of the best things about starting your own business whether it’s offline or online is also the worst thing about it: No one tells you what to do. But that also means that when you are stuck no one tells you what to do next, no one motivates you or helps you plan for success.

I have been through some of it and there are some books that have really helped me helped me overcome the biggest obstacles in becoming successful online:

  1. Generally having the wrong mindset and thinking I can’t do it,
  2. Frear. Fear of failure and self-doubt, what others think etc
  3. Creating content – the fear of not being able to come up with content, see above.
  4. Influencing people.
  5. Procrastination. Need I say more?

There are plenty more and I encourage you to do your own research. But here are some to get you started.

1 The 4-Hour Work Week by Tim Ferriss

This No.1 New York Times Bestseller is probably the starting point for anybody who wants to give up the 9-5 and start becoming financially free.

I am sure you have heard about Tim and the 4-hour work week, Time offers some really valuable insight about the value of time and money. He teaches that you don’t have to submit to the life sentence that is a 9-5 and can start living your dreams now.

His book is a complete blueprint and step by step guide to what he call luxury lifestyle design. A must read.

2 The Subtle Art Of Not Giving A F*ck by Mark Manson

Fear is the no 1 reason we don’t pursue our dreams. Fear of failure, fear of what other people think and self-doubt. Don’t get me started on self-doubt.

Mark tackles all that in The Stuble Art. This is a brilliant almost live changing read for anybody who gets caught up in the little unnecessary things in life. Stop making decisions based on emotions that don’t last.

3 Steal Like An Artist by Austin Kleon

Coming up with new content is hard. You want it to be valuable and helpful but you also want to be original and unique. Steal Like An Artist is all about that problem. (as the title might suggest)

Austin suggests that there is nothing new under the sun and that stealing is actually ok. Giving a read to find out why.

4 How To Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie

If you are running any kind of business or are selling a service or product as an affiliate this is must read. Influencing is such a sought after skill that it has become a career ie Instagram Influencer.

5 The 7 Habits Of Highly Effective People by Stephen R. Covey

Besides fear, the other main obstacle in procrastination. (At least for most people) so, of course, we have to talk about the 7 habits of highly effective people. If you a haven’t heard about this book (and therefore haven’t read it) do it now.

And there you have it. My absolute essential reading list for anybody who is starting a blog or business offline or online. Let me know if you have read any of the titles on the list. Did they help you? Any you think should have been on here? Comment below!
